Liverpool weigh up Jamie Vardy move as Arsenal wait on England star's decision

LIVERPOOL are mulling over whether to rival Arsenal for Leicester star Jamie Vardy.

The England international jetted off to Euro 2016 without giving Arsene Wenger a decision over his future after the Gunners boss met his £20million release clause.
And he has since stated that he will not make his mind up until after he returns from France.

That delay has opened the door for Jurgen Klopp to make a move for the 24-goal hitman, who fired the Foxes to the Premier League title this season.
The Reds boss already has four strikers available to him in Christian Benteke, Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge, but he may let Benteke leave in order to fund a move for Vardy.
And a source close to Leicester has talked up Vardy's move to Anfield.
"We know Vardy is seen as the perfect fit for Liverpool,” they told the Daily Star.
"That's because of his pace, work ethic, ability to run the channels - and goal-scoring ability."
However, Vardy could yet opt to stay at the King Power Stadium, with Leicester now able to offer him Champions League football - something that Liverpool cannot.
