Arsenal have told Roma they must
pay £15m to sign goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on a permanent deal,
according to reports in Italy.
The Poland goalkeeper has spent the past season on loan at the Serie A club and performed well, making 42 appearances and keeping nine clean sheets.
Szczesny has admitted he would be open to remaining at Roma next season, while Arsenal are also happy to extend his stay there for another year before bringing him back to the Emirates in the 2017/18 campaign.
But, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are interested in signing Szczesny only on a permanent deal and it is understood the club have been put off by the Gunners' asking price.
But if the two clubs fail to reach an agreement, the Italians will switch their attentions to signing Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson from Internacional.
